ACCESS is a 30-minute time period each Wednesday to fulfill Student Academic Time (SAG). The committee charged with developing this pilot has chosen a time period between 2nd and 3rd period. Periods are 41 minutes long. 2nd Period is 43: No announcements but there will be the Pledge and Moment of Silence. Students will hear details on Wednesday, February 6 when 2nd hour teachers will hold their students through ACCESS and present a slide deck and give time for students to take a brief survey about what they might choose to do in order to help us plan.

Students choose what to do with their time: Go to a teacher or counselor, seek out quiet or group study, take a pause in their day, etc. Our role is to present to them those choices and encourage them to take advantage of them.
We make ourselves available to students who can choose to seek you out. Students will have access to a list of teachers and the room where they will be.
Once students make their choice in terms of where to be, they remain in that location for the duration of the period: Classroom, Commons, LMC, etc.
Faculty can choose to invite students to join them during this time. Students are not required to attend, but some students need an invitation if they are in need of support and you would like to see them.

ACCESS is a part of a comprehensive system of supports we offer students.
