★ How can prepare students to be better SELF-ADVOCATES?
Students need to be prompted about their own advocacy...it's not something that they will think about unless we ask them to. Without ADVOCACY, not program, time period, process or software will make this work.
Do you think about your own strengths and weaknesses?
Do you recognize when things aren’t going well?
Do you have the courage to ask questions and for help?
Do you have trusted friends, adults, teachers that you ask for help?
Do you think confidently and have a growth mindset?
Consider doing a prediction activity where students rank where they think their classmates will be compared to what the data says.
ACCESS is a part of a comprehensive system of supports we offer students.
