Our focus in re-orienting students to school is to provide them ACCESS to the habits of school that successful students have. It's not that unsuccessful students can't manage their time or ask questions. It's that they have not learned how. It's our role to provide ACCESS through explicit instruction on how to build these habits.

Organization
Organization - knowing how to access what you need when you need it - is the most important academic skill students can have. It is the most common obstacle struggling students face.

As the year progresses, students will have to manage their time.
Working Collaboratively
Collaborative work is a fixture in our classrooms and an academic habit that we must continue to encourage and support for all learners. For us to help students truly collaborate, we need to help them know the difference between working in groups and working as a team.
