Neuqua Valley is an extraordinary school - not because of awards or achievement, but because of our people and the pride we each have in what we do.  We welcome you to our family and are grateful you will be a part of this community.  We have high expectations and support one another as we seek them.

Our values as a school are deeply rooted in three things: ACCESS, ADVOCACY and ACADEMICS.  We believe a consistent focus in our classes and with our students on these three ideas promotes positive relationships and success in school. 
One of the things we value is telling the stories of our school.  Whether it be in classrooms, on athletic fields, on the performance stage or in activity groups, high school is very much about the moments and memories of these 4 years.

ENGAGED:  Students need us to help them set limits to distractions like phones and earbuds so they can engage and converse.

Educators have a calling towards a greater sense of equity with our students, among our students, and among ourselves.​ We accomplish these by building authentic, inclusive, and empowering RELATIONSHIPS with students: 

Authentic 

Authentic relationships connect the teacher, student, and the content or purpose.  When we help connect students with ideas and skills they find relevant and meaningful, that is authenticity. This deepens strong relationships.

Inclusive 

Inclusive relationships ensure all students feel safe and connected.  Some need a greater portion of our attention than others.   Inclusive means building relationships with all students, especially those who need it most.

Empowering 

Empowering relationships provide students with an opportunity for voice and choice when it comes to their learning.  When students feel ownership, they are more willing to learn, take risks, and persevere.  

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES and PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT 

PLC'S are the heart of our professional DNA.  We believe the best source of support and growth is one another.  Colleagues that share your content or courses will help guide the best decisions and provide the most relevant professional development.  We are walking down many untraveled paths.  Working together and keeping together will be an important part of our own social emotional wellness and that of our students.  We need our routines as well.
