Welcome to NEUQUA VALLEY High School

Setting the Tone
NTI Day 2 Reflection
Each year, summer brings us a chance to reflect, refresh and recharge.  After a two-year stretch of uncertainty, it is needed now more than ever. We are excited to hit the reset button:
  • Renew our purpose;
  • Reconnect with our families & community; and,
  • Reignite our passion for student potential.
Neuqua Valley is an extraordinary school - not because of awards or achievement, but because of our people and the pride we each have in what we do.  We welcome you to our family and are grateful you will be a part of this community.  We have high expectations and support one another as we seek them.

Our values as a school are deeply rooted in three things: ACCESS, ADVOCACY and ACADEMICS.  We believe a consistent focus in our classes and with our students on these three ideas promotes positive relationships and success in school.

One of the things we value is telling the stories of our school.  Whether it be in classrooms, on athletic fields, on the performance stage or in activity groups, high school is very much about the moments and memories of these 4 years.

This video is a year-end summary of the many great things happening at Neuqua Valley.

PRESENT: Being in class gives students the greatest advantage towards understanding and comprehension.

ENGAGED:  Students need us to help them set limits to distractions like phones and earbuds so they can engage and converse.

RESPONSIBLE: Keeping organized and tracking their work - especially when absent - is an important part of being a student.

NVHS EQUITY LENS

Educators have a calling towards a greater sense of equity with our students, among our students and among ourselves.
Think about these three priorities:

Relationships

Building communities in our classrooms ensures students feel valued and trusted.

Access

Students must have access to the resources necessary for school success.

Literacy

Reading is a pathway to learn complex tasks and skills.  This is at the core of every subject.

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES

PLC'S are the heart of our professional DNA.  We believe the best source of support and growth is one another.  Colleagues that share your content or courses will help guide the best decisions and provide the most relevant professional development.  We are walking down many untraveled paths.  Working together and keeping together will be an important part of our own social emotional wellness and that of our students.  We need our routines as well.

We BELIEVE IN YOU and are GRATEFUL you are joining us!
